Within the Legion are several ranks open to new members as well as the opportunity to advance in those ranks for our veterans. In order to obtain a new rank, the person requesting it will have some kind of feat to perform to prove that they are ready for that responsibility. Below is a list of all of our ranks within the Legion and what must be done in order to obtain that rank, what ranks are available, and who currently has what rank.

Faction of Ayenne The Warrior Protectors of the Material Realm

1. General- Sir Roland
The General of the Faction of Ayenne handles all affairs that concern the legion as a whole on the material world of Ayenne. His word is law amongst those of his faction and highly respected by the Faction of Sigil. The General can promote anyone within his faction and take such praises away at a moment's notice.

2. Colonel- OPEN
In order to obtain this rank, the General would need to have total trust in the person in question. This rank is bestowed only by the General of the Faction. The Colonel is expected to act in the General's stead should he not be able to fulfill his duties, act as an adviser and most importantly, a true friend. The Colonel may advance anyone applying for the rank of Captain.

3. Captain OPEN
This rank is always open to anyone who wishes to try and obtain it. A Captain heads a particular guard squad within the Solemn Legion and answers only to the General and Colonel of his faction. All Captains and their guard squads are independent of each other, so no Captain can give orders to a person outside of his squad. The Captains hold their own council that acts as an advisory group to the General and Colonel. Captains can have any rank given out to those of their squad. Only proven Heroes and the most honorable of the Legion may hope to hold this rank.

4. Lieutenant OPEN
In order to obtain this rank, the Captain would need to have total trust in the person in question. This rank is bestowed only by the Captain of the squad the Lieutenant belongs to. The Lieutenant is expected to act in the Captain's stead should he not be able to fulfill his duties, act as an adviser and most importantly, a true friend. The Lieutenant may advance anyone applying for the rank of Sergent within his squad.

5. Sergeant OPEN
Several persons may hold this rank within a particular squad. These are the enforcers and bruisers of any given squad (thus they must have a strong combat background) and are often those next in line for a lieutenant's or Captain's seat.

6. Corporal OPEN
This is perhaps the largest portion of a guard squad next to the infantry. This rank belongs to many highly esteemed squires, scribes, healers, weapon smiths and other such specialized duties. Though not the most high ranked within the legion, these knights are respected by the infantry and their superior officers. More combat oriented Corporals often find themselves becoming Sergeants and even higher. These people are also mostly up-and-coming heroes that never cease to surprise their commanders.

Faction of Sigil The Planeswalking Protectors of the Outlands

1. General- Kear Dragonstar
The General of the Faction of Sigil handles all affairs that concern the legion as a whole on the outer planes of existence. His word is law amongst those of his faction and highly respected by the Faction of Ayenne. The General can promote anyone within his faction and take such praises away at a moment's notice.

Both factions also have a garrison of infantry knights that are most commonly NPC's that everyone controls as a whole. If you would like to play the part of an infantryman for the sake of storyline, by all means, go right ahead. Kudos to you!
